Fun in the fort

Here's some recent pics for your enjoyment. We had Shaun & Sarah over recently and I had the idea to build a fort out of the couch cushions - making a tunnel between the couch back and the windowsill. Elijah and Davin had a blast with it - and I was reminded of the couch-cushion forts my brother and I used to build as kids.

Getting ready for bed with mommy. Davin is now reading "Goodnight Moon" with mommy before bed - and she's just starting to pull herself up onto furniture with shakey legs - it seems she might decide to walk someday after all. She caused great amusement by scootching all over the park tonight - we went in the bicycle trailer before bedtime.

A Happy 3rd Birthday for Elijah

Elijah had his 3rd birthday on May 31. We celebrated with a party the day before. This "double birthday" seems to have confused Elijah somewhat - for a few days afterwards every morning he would say "It's my birthday?" Or, maybe he was just hoping he could cash in again...

Kema, Nathaniel and Zach made the trek out, as did the shack o' Thack (Joanna, Taylor, Jackson and wee baby Kya). Your effort was greatly appreciated!

The gift opening was in the backyard - to maximize proximity to the sandbox.

Val made a special cake in the shape of "Scoop" from Bob the Builder for the party.

The kids all decorated their own cupcakes...

... and then devoured them. I hear the chocolate goatee is "in" these days.
